COMMUNITY WRITING WORKSHOPS

STARTING SOON: THE KELSO POSSUM SKIN CLOAK PROJECT
a 20 week Aboriginal community writing and multimedia project based at the Kelso Community Centre, Bathurst. This project is expected to commence on 30 April, 2008.

Following the success of her 2007 rural writers workshops, Fictions, non-fictions, memoirs and family histories: writing stories that people want to read, author Merrill Findlay is now encouraging yet more aspiring authors to write and publish their own stories. Forthcoming workshops include The Possum Skin Cloak Project with indigenous groups at Kelso Community Centre near Bathurst, NSW, starting in April 2008.

Please contact Merrill to discuss workshops in your area.

2007 Workshops

Merrill's 2007 workshops in Forbes, NSW, were facilitated through the Forbes Arts & Culture Working Group and Forbes Library with funding through Regional Arts NSW's Country Arts Support Program (CASP), and were conducted in the Forbes Youth and Community Centre.

Workshop participants from Parkes and Forbes have now established their own support group, the Forbes Writers Group, which meets every couple of months at the historic Vandenberg Hotel in Forbes.
